A Diverse Country (1)


Our beloved homeland, Pakistan, has been blessed with a lot of special features. Ranging from different climates, a number of seasons, and unique landforms to a wide variety of ecosystems, there is no natural sector in which Pakistan is left behind. All these features are included in the Biodiversity of Pakistan, which has a lot of variety and uniqueness. The biodiversity of Pakistan, whether it is of the deserts, mountains, or plains, never fails to surprise tourists who have started arriving here in large numbers. But urbanization and exploitation of natural resources may lead our nation's biodiversity to an inevitable decline which will be difficult to reverse. This blog aims to spread awareness, whilst enlightening readers regarding the wildlife biodiversity present in Pakistan. Read on for more information!

Since the past couple of decades, the biodiversity of Pakistan is facing severe threats by climate change, illegal hunting/poaching, and other disastrous human activities including all 5 forms of pollution. Forests (6)

  Forests make up less than 5% of all the land on Pakistan. They aren't really common, but the tropical and semi-arid climate allows the forests to contribute a lot to the biodiversity of the country. Locations: Forests are present in the area between Sindh and Balochistan, Western Balochistan, Central and Northern Punjab, and well as a large area of KPK and FATA. Features: The forests are hot and humid with plenty of rainfall and vegetation. The food chain is active a lot over there. Flora and Fauna: A mixture of tropical, deciduous and coniferous trees are present in the forests of Pakistan, depending on the climate and altitude. Oak, birch, willow, chestnut, evergreen, etc... trees are present in large quantities while a variety of animals such as wild cats, foxes and monkeys reside in them too. Hummingbirds, parrots and hawks as well as owls make nests in the tall trees while deer and cattle rely on the plants to survive. Snow leopards and bears also take shelter in the forests
