Ways to Save Pakistan's Biodiversity (9)

But there is still hope. There is some time left to make an impact and to ensure the wildlife biodiversity of Pakistan grows and flourishes even more. All the consequences and negative impacts can be halted, but only if we act vigilantly and take some serious measures. Some of the most easy yet effective ways to save Pakistan's biodiversity can be:

Giving Significant Locations The 'National Park' Status: National Parks are specially allotted areas dedicated to the conservation and habitation of the wildlife of a particular country. Natural parks don't have to be really big and decorated, but the name itself provides a special protocol to the place. Giving widely populated biomes the status of a 'National Park' will help increase its security in such a way that hunters will be terrified to enter land specifically owned by a strict government., and thus sanctuaries and breeding centers for vulnerable animals can be provided. Also, reserves and medical centers can be established for animals. This will help restore their population as national parks don't have to be artificial.

Reforestation and Afforestation: First of all, trees shouldn't be cut down from a place with a high animal population. Second, if for some reason it is necessary, new trees should be planted in places which were previously barren so they can be utilized for animal rehabilitation. Once used, the land should be restored to its previous condition by planting more trees so that the health of the ecosystem can stay in check and no animals can be deprived of their homes.

Controlling Pollution: Large industries and companies often dump their waste into water bodies as proper disposal of it is an expensive and difficult task. Funds should be allotted for its proper disposal and if its not possible, then filtration and purification should occur and the waste should b utilized elsewhere. Also, sewage lines should be properly managed and shouldn't be directly into bodies of water. The use of plastics and other non-biodegradable materials should be avoided as they harm the environment and wildlife a great deal.

Prohibiting Hunting/Poaching: Hunting and poaching should be restricted as a sport due to the immense of biodiversity it results in. Fines should be put if someone breaks the law and bans should be imposed.

Spreading Awareness: Using means like this blog, we can easily spread awareness to help highlight the issue regarding the loss of wildlife biodiversity of Pakistan.
